singer

Feb/2008

The last thing I did that I was really proud of musically was in 2006 when I was driving with my son Liam for a late night flight to St. John's Nfld... and California 103 played (for the first time) the cover of Radney Foster's song Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) that Brad Steckel and I had reworked and given them as part of a 6-song demo EP - they played it (all of it) - alot... thanks John and Chanine.

Before and since I have shared the stage with some brilliant players - including the sadly missed Robert (Bobby Day) Day. I am grateful to have shared the Eric Friedenberg bandstand with Bobby Day for years, he played flugel horn (a mellower (arguably) smoother version of the trumpet) with his heart.

This year, working on a CD with Derek Stoll and assorted guests will again make me proud, even if it's just proud that we finished something. Or at least started something. You rarely come out the other end of that any dumber - so that's good.

I'm singing with some fine musicians at The Bearsden in Bearspaw every so often - it's a nice night out - and you don't need to be rich to go there - it just helps. But they have a lovely bar if you just want a drink and the best bartender this side of the Pecos. His name... is Mister Al.

Sweet dreams,
Kathy
